SUNDAYS AT HOPE CITY SUNDERLAND

We can’t wait to see you on Sunday!

Our Sunday services are back! This one-hour service at 10:30am will give us the opportunity to gather safely and in accordance with government guidelines.

Check out the information below to find out what we’re doing to keep you safe and how you can reserve your seat for a Sunday service. This service will also be live online each Sunday so if you can’t make it in person, you can still join us online.

Keeping you safe

Everyone’s health, wellbeing and safety is very important. So, in line with the Government Guidelines for Places of Worship and for your protection, we have implemented a number of changes at our venue. Please ensure you have read these COVID-19 changes in full before you decide to reserve a space at a physical gathering:

  • All venues and activities have been risk assessed.
  • Venues have been deep cleaned and disinfected.
  • We have supplied PPE for key staff and team.
  • Entry will be by ticket only to comply with track and trace guidelines and limiting capacity.
  • We have reduced the capacity of our venue.
  • Socially distanced seating has been implemented.
  • We have installed sanitising stations at entrances, exits and toilets.
  • We have increased our cleaning routines.
  • We ask all team and attenders to wear a face-mask and to adhere to social distancing at all times.
  • Staff and teams will be kept up to date with the latest government guidance and the implementation of it.

Reserve your seat

For those of you who would like to gather in person, we ask that you reserve a seat for you (and everyone coming for your household or social bubble) no later than the Thursday before the Sunday you plan to attend. Bookings will open after each service for the following Sunday.

We will continue to broadcast our services online, so you can watch in the comfort of your own home or, why not meet with one other family or household to enjoy church together (according to government guidelines).

FAQs

As we’re sure you will understand, we care deeply for the heath and safety of our congregation, that is why we have worked hard to implement the changes we have made at our venue, so that you can feel confident in attending a physical gathering. We know there may be lots of questions, so we’ve tried to answer as many of them as we can for you below.

  • To ensure we can maintain effective social distancing measures, our venue has a maximum safe capacity.

To gather with us on Sundays, you will need to reserve a seat in advance, for you and everyone in your family or social bubble. Tickets can be booked through our website and will be made available from the Sunday before.

If you need help to reserve your seat, you can email us at sunderland@hopecity.church.

Please only reserve seats which you will use to ensure someone else doesn’t miss out. If for any reason once you have booked your ticket you can no longer make it, please do let us know by email so we can reallocate it.

In the event that you arrive after the service has started, we may not be able to guarantee you a seat.

  • Our doors will open at 10am and will remain open until 10:25am. Please arrive at church between those times so that we can check you in and seat you.

You will be asked to sanitise your hands upon arrival at the front door and we’ll also be using an infra-red temperature sensor so we can quickly check your temperature as you arrive so we have confidence that we are all well.

Please note we are unable to open our coffee bar and area at this time.

  • In accordance with current Government Guidelines, everyone over the age of 11 will be required to wear a face covering throughout the service, unless you are otherwise exempt.

  • Toilets will be available, but we ask that you avoid using them where possible, especially considering the reduced service lengths.

If you do need to use the toilet, we ask that you use the Hand Sanitiser provided both before and after use.

  • Seats will be allocated in accordance with the latest Social Distancing guidelines. Households, family units and social bubbles will be able to sit together, but not mix between households.

Children should stay with you and within your allocated area throughout the service.

We ask that you cooperate fully with our staff and team on this.

We know you will be excited to greet people you haven’t seen in a long time, but we ask that you follow the guidelines by not greeting with hugs, handshakes or other physical greetings.

  • In line with Government Guidelines, we are not allowed to sing as part of our Sunday Services.

We look forward in anticipation to this being reviewed, but until then we will be encouraging alternative ways of worshiping together.

  • Yes – though everything needs to be done in accordance with government guidelines.

You can submit a prayer request any time by emailing us at sunderland@hopecity.church.

  • Yes – all our giving is online. You can set up a standing order or give a one off gift through your online banking using the following details:

Account Name: Hope City Newcastle Hub
    Account Number: 63982262
    Sort Code: 20-76-92

If you need help in setting up your standing order or giving an offering online, please speak to one of our team.

  • Children are a central part of the Hope City family, and we are sad that we cannot reopen Whizz Kids at this stage.

Until we are able to resume this ministry, we will be asking children to remain seated with their parents throughout the service.

In order to help you as a parent, we have reduced our service length.

If you need to make use of our Live Link room, this will be fully cleaned, but not manned. Please bring your own toys for your children to play with. Each room will have a capacity, which must not be exceeded.

  • When you reserve your seat through our website, we will ask for you consent to collect your details for the purposes of NHS Test and Trace.

In line with guidance issued by the Department for Health and Social Care, we will keep your details safely and in compliance with GDPR legislation for 21 days before securely disposing of or deleting them. We will only share your details with NHS Test and Trace, if asked, in the event that it is needed to help stop the spread of Coronavirus. We will not use your details for any other purposes within the life of Hope City Church or pass them on to anyone else.

For more information, please see our privacy policy.

  • If you feel unwell, are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, or have been diagnosed with COVID-19, you must not attend a Hope City Church service or venue. Instead, we would encourage you to join us online.

Likewise, if you have been in close contact with someone diagnosed or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 please stay at home.

In addition, if you have returned from international travel or been in close contact with someone who has returned from international travel in the last 14 days please stay at home.

All our measures have been put in place according to government guidelines.

If you’d like any further information about our Sunday gatherings – in person or online – please email us at sunderland@hopecity.church.
