After returning from an amazing weekend in Sheffield, celebrating 20 years of our She Is women’s conference, I have realised more than ever, that positioning is key.
I am not talking about jostling for position in the ranks, but the power of positioning yourself in the right place – the right atmosphere – and positioning yourself at the right time. The stories I heard from women at the conference this weekend were powerful. One lady in particular shared her story of feeling hopeless after she was unable to conceive a baby. She was on the verge of giving up, but chose instead to position herself at She Is Conference every year, to hear the word of God and to place herself in an atmosphere of faith. It changed her inner stance and strengthened her faith – and now she is six months pregnant, which is just incredible!
I’ve often heard people say things like, ‘God never speaks to me’, ‘It’s alright for other people, but nothing good ever happens to me’ or ‘Other people always get their miracle, it’s not fair’. When we face challenges it’s easy for thoughts like this to arise, but I would encourage you to ask yourself, ‘Are you positioning yourself to hear from God? Are you positioning yourself for a miracle, for your breakthrough?’
I’m inspired by the lady in the Bible who had been subject to bleeding for 12 years. She heard that Jesus was nearby and instead of letting the crowds or inconvenience stop her, she positioned herself for a miracle and in doing so was healed.
The flesh part of me would like nothing better than to curl up on the sofa, trackies on, with a big cup of tea in my hand, living life on my own. But every time I’ve made the decision to step out of my comfort zone and position myself to hear from God, it has been so worth it.
Let me encourage you, make time in your day, your week and even set time aside in your diary, to position yourself to hear from God. He is the source of everything and I guarantee it will transform your life.
